Forged Playing Cards - Viking Fury

In the enchanting realm of playing card design, few names carry as much weight as Jody Eklund. That's why I jumped at the chance to collaborate with him on our upcoming project. Following a playing card convention last year, Jody approached me about doing a project together and asked if I had any ideas. Like all good creatives, I have a long list of ideas. Some are fleshed out and some just single words. I said to Jody, "what about Forged? A deck inspired by ancient, forged weaponry." He loved the idea and from there the partnership was born. 

With an impressive portfolio of over 70 decks and an astounding 25 successful Kickstarter campaigns between us, we've joined forces to bring you, what we believe is an extraordinary deck of cards: Forged. Brought to life by the incredible artistry of Jody Eklund, Forged Playing Cards is a testament to Norse mythology and our dedication to finely crafted playing card design.

Forged Playing Cards embodies the essence of Norse mythology and the base edition is aptly named Danish Will. The Viking Danish Axe, or Dane Axe, inspired the artwork and serves as the centerpiece of the deck's intricate design. Highlighting the strength and power of the Viking warriors, Danish Will captures the spirit of battle and conquest.

The deck's artwork delves deeper into the realms of mythology by highlighting the awe-inspiring Midgard serpent. Alongside the Danish Axe, the Midgard serpent weaves its way through the artwork, evoking the unstoppable force of nature and the eternal cycle of life and death. We'll have more on the Midgard serpent in a future post.

The cards have a stunning visual feature in that the cards and tuck have a metal look that perfectly aligns with the deck's title, Forged. This striking metallic aesthetic enhances the thematic connection to the Viking weaponry and mythological elements, creating an immersive experience for players and collectors alike. The exquisite attention to detail, combined with the evocative artistry of Jody Eklund, transports users into a world where legends come alive with every shuffle and deal.

The Kickstarter Journey

The Kickstarter campaign for Forged Playing Cards is set to launch on September 12, offering a limited opportunity to own these masterpieces. The campaign will run for 30 days, allowing backers plenty of time to pledge their support and secure their copies of Forged Playing Cards.

Throughout the campaign there will be plenty of extras introduced to make this one of the best campaigns of the year. We're planning at least two new add-ons, we've never attempted before, that will appeal to the most discerning collectors. With a proven track record of delivering exceptional projects, we're pushing the boundaries of playing card design with this project, which we believe will enrich any playing card collection or card game.
